The second of Sean Brosnan’s Future Disco compilations, released on his new label NeedWant, has hit the shelves. I’ve only had one listen so far, but the quality of tracks and edits seems up there with those of the first Future Disco, which was released earlier this year by Azuli. Grab a copy. And come along to the launch party at the Queen of Hoxton on October 16th — Faze Action (Live), Crazy P (Live / DJ Set), Severino, Sean Brosnan, Matty J provide the music for what should be a big night. Over the past months, I’ve been documenting Nando’s development of his performance piece Sissy, which forms part of his practice-based PhD research on the issue of male effeminacy. This week I’ve been over at the Central School of Speech and Drama taking photos of final rehearsals and full dress rehearsal. The show, created in collaboration with Biño Sauitzvy, is brilliant. Last performance for the current run was last night, but keep an eye out of possible future dates. Nando is also performing next Tuesday (6 October) at Bistrotheque, as part of the UNDERCONSTRUCTION season. Dress rehearsal photos here.
Our favourite platform for new performance work, curated by the tireless Lisa Lee, returned this week to Bistrotheque for its fifth season. Pix here.
Thursday night saw Tony Hornecker and Ralf Obergfell team up for a one-night-only architectural/performance takeover of Dalston Superstore, for the private view of Beautiful Freaks, an exhibition of Ralf’s nightlife photos. Jonny Woo, Ryan Styles, A Man To Pet, Pia Arber, John Sizzle and Per QX were amongst the performers/participants. An amazing launch. Pix here.
Helen Noir, John Sizzle, Nando Messias, A Man To Pet and Dickie Beau… pix here.
Jonny Woo, Bourgeois & Maurice, and a well-deserved triumph for the House of Scottee, at the Royal Opera House. Pix here.
Film Noir (Helen Noir and Rokk) downstairs, John Sizzle Nolan and A Man To Pet upstairs. Fabulous. Pix here.

Good interview with the ever-charming Jim and James from HMD in Resident Advisor today. Nice that they’ve also used one of my photos from the mayhem that was Horse Meat’s 2008 NYE party at Cargo…
